Heidi Elva

Heidi plays the harp. Not in a conventional way. She layers loops and using the harp as her drum, she creates beats. Occasionally using the iphone to layer instruments and as a sampler. She weaves soundscapes – at times cinematic and other times, simple hypnotic melodies. Then there’s Heidi’s voice. A friend once said it was like a narcotic. She thought that was interesting. The songs are cyclic. Delayed lines weave intricately – ebbing in and out. Mesmerising her audience, Heidi lulls you in singing stories of dimly lit scenes, night time musings on an aching promise from a lost lover, abandoned places left to their own devices and the full moon watching from above.
